"My favorite book"

“My favorite book is a doorway to my imagination.”

In Gevgelija this weekend, the exhibition "My Favorite Book" was opened at the Apollonia Hotel, organized by Aleksandar Janev, Tanja Trajkova, Natasha Smilkova, teachers from the "Krste Misirkov" school and the municipality of Gevgelija.
The exhibition featured the artwork of students from grades 4 to 9 from the "Krste Misirkov" elementary school, inspired by their favorite books, and represents a connection between literature, children's creativity and fine arts.
Students from this school are involved in this project, with about 150 artworks, and a committee consisting of artists and teachers selects the best 30 artworks that will be part of the exhibition in Paris "You like to read, so draw."
This is the third year in a row that the collaboration with the French visual artist Mlle Yolande, who is a member of the association of fine artists from Paris and who initiated the project "Mon Livre Préféré". The link with Paris is in charge of Anita Alabau from Gevgelija, an independent artist who lives and works in the Republic of France.
The project establishes a platform for cooperation between schools in France and other countries, so that students exhibit their creative works in a famous Parisian gallery.
Edition 5, with the project "My Favorite Book", will be held from February 11 to 15, 2026 in Paris. This year, the exhibition is the fifth in a row and it is attended by students from several primary schools in Paris as well as students from several countries, including Macedonia.
