Jordan Janev, born in 1948 in Gevgelija, is an accomplished artist and designer with a rich and diverse career. He graduated from the Academy for Applied Art, specializing in sculpture under the tutelage of the renowned professor Miodrag Zivkovik in Belgrade. His professional journey spans various roles, including teaching set design in Gevgelija and Kavadarci, eight years as a graphic designer at Vinojug in Gevgelija, and significant contributions such as overseeing the construction of Hotel Apollonia in 1980 and designing Gevgelija's first discotheque, 'Disco Bango,' in 1979.
Renowned for his artistry, Jordan is the creator behind several war monuments in Gevgelija and its vicinity. His expertise extends to architecture and interior design, evident in iconic buildings across Gevgelija, Skopje, Tetovo, Kavadarci, Negotino, and Strumica. A member of the Gevgelija Artists' Association, he regularly showcases his work in association exhibitions, featuring prominently in group exhibitions in Skopje, Kavadarci, and France. He held a solo exhibition in Novi Sad, Serbia, in 1975.
In 2013, Jordan began his journey with the Apollonia Foundation, initially volunteering to lead art therapy classes at the Daily Center for Children with Special Needs. He later joined the board, driven by his experience managing an art class at the cultural association 'Josif Josifovski' from 1972 to 1979. This experience served as his inspiration to join Apollonia, aspiring to guide children in exploring art and fostering creativity, aiming to contribute positively to the community without expecting anything in return. He advocates for a nurturing environment for artistic, literary, and musical activities, envisioning a landscape that encourages progress and cultural enrichment.
